Did I miss a generation gap, or something? I would definitely consider myself socially prevalent, but I think I missed something here. Where did all of this 3D stuff come in? Suddenly there's a LOT of 3D stuff going on, and I'm not really sure how to take it.A disney movie, ok, I can see that. Kids love it when it looks like a dinosaur is about to stampede your face in. A horror movie, I can see that, too. The "old school" horror movie just doesn't do it for us anymore, though? We have to FEEL like we are about to have our brains ripped out by a baby killer who is after you and your dog Shiloh? I may be 24 years young, but I'm pretty positive my heart can't handle that. Us Americans are just never satisfied, I guess.
Now here's what I have beef with ... the Superbowl. Why. Why do you feel it is necessary to make two minutes of the Superbowl in 3D. Please. At the point of the game where you'd have your 3D moment (after halftime) everyone had already misplaced their 3D glasses, and had their beer goggles on, bull blown, I'm sure. Their goal was ... what exactly. To make you feel like crap just like that guy on the Cardinals who, I'm pretty sure just had a major brain fart and forgot he actually had to throw the ball. I don't want to keep like crap. I don't want to feel like I led my team to losing the biggest game we will all ever play in our football careers. I just don't want to feel like I blew it. At least not like that guy did.
Then, on the radio on my way home from work today, I heard an announcement that there will be a 3D concert/show. I would just like to know ... how. Does that mean that the artist will actually show up and NOT cancel their show? That seems to be becoming a thing of the norm, no?
Don't get my wrong I love 3D. Who doesn't love to watch a shark eat a human being 3D, or an angry ostrich running at you in the middle of the Navajo Desert full force or maybe even a pterrifying Pterodactyl hovering over your head your little body his prey. Hey ... I'm kind of getting into this!
Move over, Generation X ... 3D life is coming though.
HDTV is so 2008.
