It's such a simple concept. Do what you love. Just do it, right? Wrong. Forced lazy day #4 shed a little light on this 'oh so simple' concept. I was watching The Real World Brooklyn (which, by the way, had I known that there were auditions for brooklyn, I would have been first in line, days in advance.) and a background song came on. For some reason, whenever background songs come on, I pay more attention to the song, than what's actually happening, usually resulting in totally missing the most important part of the show/movie, which is why the background music was put there in the first place. Anyways, listening to the song, I caught the lyrics, "do what you love, so what you love right now." Duh. Do what you love. Who has the time to waste on doing things that they hate? I can guarantee you that your goal in life is to be happy, right? While I find, and define "happiness" a little differently than the mainstream world (through Jesus), those lyrics still struck a cord with me.I had to stop and ask myself, am I doing what I love? Is there anything that I'm doing right now, right this second in my life, that I really DON'T love, even possibly hate? That really got me thinking. Now of course, at 24 years young, all of my wildest dreams can't possibly come true. I want to own my own business. Two, in fact. One, a fashion based business with my own clothing line and being a stylist. Two, a really cool, socially acceptable to our generation and younger, missionary type deal, where music, bands and Jesus are the main focus in kid's lives, and the reason why they want to live. Music is probably more than 50% of the populations' lives, and Jesus should be too. There IS a way to break this out and let kids know that Jesus is cool, and so is their favorite band.
I have REALLY big hopes, dreams, and aspirations. And one day they WILL shine through and surface themselves. I'm just waiting for that door to open.
I know that you reading this right now have big, big dreams and goals. Are you living your life on the right track to make those big things happen? Are you doing what your happy doing? Discard all of the things in your life that you hate, despise, or simply don't need. Chances are, they are only holding you back from doing what you were created to do.
Get on the right track.
Do What You Love Right Now.
